I love living in community.

I really do!

All the people, family dinners and other randomness that happens within my house.

I love knowing that I can take a few steps to the right or left, and there will be someone I can talk to. Sometimes it is a “how was your day” kind of conversation, and sometimes it’s a deeper life conversation.

I also love the atmosphere of this house.

It’s a place where people feel welcome.

Having people over for dinner, games or a fire on the porch with s’mores brings so much joy. Even more is having people stay for a weekend or week.

Getting to welcome them in and create a place of peace and rest, all the while learning their story, makes my heart so happy!

But sometimes, the week comes to a close, and it’s been full of so many people and things happening, along with all different emotions.

And then, on a Saturday night, you’re cooking a real dinner, by throwing random things into a pot (and it actually smells delicious). It’s then you realize that you are all alone in this big beautiful old house.

Just you and the crazy dog.

With that, you also realize there is a big open space on the wood floor, along with some great speakers. So you run upstairs to get your music.

And you turn it on full blast.

And you have yourself your own personal DANCE PARTY!!

You embrace all your weird and goofy, laughing all the while.

And the dog now thinks you’re the crazy one. But she wags her tail to say “I still love you!”

There is such a great sense of freedom, coming from shaking off the old to bring on the new!

So go ahead.

Crank up your favorite music, find some space and have your own personal dance party.

Because let me tell ya, IT’S A WHOLE LOT OF FUN!!
