Some days it feels like it was just yesterday, and others it seems like a long time gone, with all that has happened in the two years since I have been home from the World Race. I have been doing my best to go back to “normal” life. All the while feeling restless, longing for more. I had been marvelously ruined on the World Race. Normal and being comfortable no longer seeming to be enough.

Because of this, I have been pressing more into the Father, His will for my life, and becoming more in tune with the Father’s heart and my own heart beat. So after much thought, prayer, and talking to some wonderful people, I applied to Center for Global Action (CGA). I was accepted much more quickly than I expected! I took the long journey from Michigan to Georgia on the 10th of September, and started getting acquainted the following day.

CGA is an apprenticeship/discipleship program that is part of Adventures In Missions (AIM). There are 5 tracks that are available, and I have chosen the Storytelling track. This will prepare, develop, and further equip me for walking out my calling in life.

One of my passions is to bring awareness to and fight for the people and issues that get lost in the shuffle.

One story that has a permanent imprint in my mind is going to the dump in Honduras, talking to a young girl who was about 10 years old. She was living and working on this mountain of trash. The smell was overwhelming to me. But even more than that, was the fact that this beautiful young girl’s biggest ambition was to collect enough trash to provide for her family. This is not okay. She should not have to live, work and breathe in the fumes of the trash every day of her life.

Stories like these injustices are the kind that light my heart on fire to do whatever I can to help bring a change. At CGA, I will have the opportunity to learn the skills and abilities to do this in the best way possible.

I will be serving alongside the ministry of AIM, which has sent thousands of missionaries out into the nations to share the love and hope of Jesus!

I will be updating this blog weekly with stories of what I am learning through discipleship, the process of story telling, and personal struggles I am walking through. My hope and prayer is that you will join me in seeking more of the Kingdom every day!
